Birth Rate, also referred to as Live Birth Rate, is one part of Population Growth.

Live Birth Rate is derived from Ideal Birth Rate, which is determined by the following factors:

  • Uncultivated land increases Ideal Birth Rate for Rural Population.
  • The difference between cultivated land and Rural Population, if any, modifies Ideal Birth Rate.
    • If there is more Cultivated Land than usable by the current Rural Population, Ideal Birth Rate is increased.
    • If there is less Cultivated Land than usable by the current Rural Population, Ideal Birth Rate is decreased.

Live Birth Rate can differ from Ideal Birth Rate due to the following factors:

  • Live Birth Rate is limited to between the Minimum Birth Rate and Maximum Birth Rate, if Ideal Birth Rate is outside of this range. These values are determined by the global Base Minimum Birth Rate and Base Maximum Birth Rate modified by the following local factors:
  • Live Birth Rate can only change each year by the Maximum Birth Rate Change. If Ideal Birth Rate changes drastically, Live Birth Rate may lag for several years before matching it.
